Affordable Homes Near Ruskin
Eight affordable, energy-efficient single-family homes near Ruskin School, designed for households at or below 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI). These homes reflect our commitment to sustainable design, long-term affordability, and equitable access to homeownership in East Dayton.

Ruskin Commons - A New Community Space
Ruskin Commons is a public space located on Xenia Avenue in front of Ruskin School, designed to serve as a gathering place for neighbors, families, and community events.
This green, open space will feature:​

Outdoor play and learning features

Art and cultural installations created with local input, including an in-ground mosaic designed by the Mosaic Institute of Dayton.

The mosaic was collaboratively created by students at Ruskin School and local community groups, making it a true reflection of neighborhood pride and identity.

Home Rehabilitations
Two single-family homes in the Ruskin area are being fully rehabilitated to bring high-quality, affordable housing back into the local market. These renovations preserve East Dayton’s housing stock while offering a fresh start to new homeowners.
Scope of Work Includes:

Structural repairs and safety upgrades

Energy efficiency improvements

Modernized kitchens, bathrooms, and mechanical systems
Status: 43 George Street soon to be completed; funding for the second rehab secured - construction in early 2027.
Twin Towers Community Planning Initiative
Twin Towers is a neighborhood with proud and caring residents, strong community organizations, and tremendous potential. We all want to see positive changes in Twin Towers, and change starts when all voices in the neighborhood are heard. Together, residents, Twin Towers Neighborhood Association, EDNDC, New Hope Church, East End Community Services, local businesses, and community partners are launching a community-driven Comprehensive Development Planning Process to identify priorities and to create practical solutions that improve the quality of life for everyone.
